Oceanic Civil Engineering Team of SCE Visits and Communicates with Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute
On May 17, the oceanic civil engineering team of the School of Civil Engineering (SCE) visited and communicated with the China Energy Engineering Group Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute Ltd. (GEDI). Pei Ai’guo, chief engineer of the institute and director of offshore wind power big data center; Zhou Bing, director of wind technology center; Caoxin, party secretary of SCE; and Lv Dagang, leader of oceanic civil engineering of SCE, participated in this activity.

Members of SCE and GEDI communicated and discussed about cooperation of scientific research in offshore wind power, seismic safety of nuclear power, and big data application of projects. In addition, they talked about the co-construction of an academician workstation, cooperation in joint-training postdocs and professors, as well as in engineering practice.
Guided by director Zhou Bing, leaders and teachers of SCE visited the exhibition center of corporate image and the Guangdong offshore wind power big data center, which gathers multiple advanced technologies, including big data management, real-time signal transmission, cloud data visualization, and system integration, showing the fast development and vast potential of offshore power construction in south China.
Through this activity, SCE and GEDI further clarified intentions for cooperation and discussed ways of cooperation. In the future, SCE and GEDI will push forward the development of following communication and cooperation.
